so do ya reckon he's one of these "just passin through" type surfers who gets right into it and then drifts away after a cuppla years? does anyone still hear from him? do ya reckon he still surfs now? (if he ever really did hahaha).
I dunno about you lot, but i reckon even when or if i have to lay surfing aside for a while I'll still be thinkin about it a cuppla times a day and i reckon I'd find it hard to do without it for long while, the longest Ive gone without a wave since i had a drivers license is probably 4 or so months when i really got into skateboarding and it was at the top of my list, other than that I've prolly only gone 3 weeks on the rare occasion. I reckon if i wanna earn more dollars I'm gonna have to start working in a bigger operation, and there just isnt many near the beaches, so god forbid I may have to become a true weekend warrior...
anyway whaddayareckon?

saw a programme on foxtel called "Banged up Abroad" where some pommy got taken down for trying to smuggle cocaine inta Sydney....all the while I was watchin' it I was thinkin' how much he reminded me of the 'clot... ;D ;D ;D as far as I know he's still surfing....and besides, his other water recreation is closed till October....when he'll start up on patrols again...whahahaha
as for giving up surfing....I've had a coupla long stretches...one of which was around 10 years....and exactly for reasons what your saying wands....money and family....found meself working farken obscene hours....and then doin' extra TAFE/Uni study on top of it....so any recreation time was spent wholly and solely with me family doin' family things....but it was my choice and it set me up pretty good...can't really recall whether I thought about surfing too much during that time....although I did every now and then buy Tracks or some other surf mag....

but it was my choice and it set me up pretty good... yep, thats what I'm thinkin, I'm not gonna get paid much more than I'm on at the moment without some extra edumacation and its about time I got my forklift ticket, I can drive em easy enuff, been doin it for years but I just need the bit of paper, been trying to wait for an employer to pay for it for me coz otherwise it'll cost me $400+, as far as i can say all the high paying warehouse managerial work is out west and if I want the coin its where I'm gonna have to go sooner or later.

yeah....well....the forklift training will be tax deductable if that's any consolation and ya could also refuse to operate the forklift at work until you get your forklift license because if ya fuck up and hurt someone and it's a reportable incident....then workcover will go through you and your employer like a dose of salts....that might get 'em ta fork out ( ) for the license.... as for the higher paying warehouse jobs.....there's probably a few up the Cenny Coast or around Gunts and Rugs areas as well.....'cause there's some farken big warehouses in them joints.....and their closer to the surf on less crowded raods than out in farken westieworld.....

I have gone without surfing a few times for periods of up to a year. Seem to miss it for the first month or so then don't really think about it cause i was always pretty busy doing what ever it was and the goal was always to go on a trip at the end of hiatus (tah Lards ;-) ). At the moment with living in Brisbane and being just under an hour away from the nearest beach its a hassle to get a wave in but I still manage to get a few surf's a month. Sure I would rather be surfing every day again but with what we have to deal with, Brisbane offers the best options so we are sorta here for a few more years yet. Early's before work and the occasional late one are what gets me through.

I only started at 27 so I can't afford to take any breaks from it ... don't wanna either -- I think 6 weeks has been the longest

hmm, Ive been out there for fargin years and it shows. More wrinkles than Balder's arse. And dats on me face! Had a few times when I didnt get down there as much as I wanted to, but livin in Melb and workin wit udder surf dudes twaz pretty much all I thought about besides sport and pluggin a chick. Aint really changed much in 25 years. Still think da same and do the smae shit-just wit more knowledge. As ta Bumz, da poor prick doesnt seem ta know what he wants and will go wherever the wind blows. Sad ta be like dat at his toim o life, but horses for courses. As long as he is enjoyin himself.
