we have a 91 kombi back in durban. never given me any trouble. done 300,000km and been to hell and back. has been rolled 3 times on its side and been treated like shit. used to redline that thing in 3rd for about 40km everyday up the highway for 4 months driving to work cause i couldnt drive a manual and the gears are all backwards in it.

sorry Preps......last "Kombi" made in this country was 1977 or 1978......then they made them farken boxy things.....kinda like the shape of Rug's head......and called 'em Transporters.....and they was watercooled.....
although some people will tell ya that it ain't a Kombi unless it's got the split screen windscreen....
