After enjoying the sounds of Wendy Icon the other weekend, I had a hankering for some old school rock, so headed off to the store, came back with these: Black Sabbath, Live Evil: A+++++ very tidy live album, an awesome sound, have listened to it 5 or 6 times completely since I bought it on sunday arvo. Motley Crue, Dr Feelgood: some gooduns but some shite too, maybe shoulda gone for their previous drug fueled effort 'Girls, girls, girls' Def Leppard, Hysteria: havent given it a full listening to yet, but some good ones in there, one of the top 20 selling albums of the 80's. Guns 'n' Roses, Live Era: '87-'93: siiiiiick, awesome live double cd, classic stuff with not too much of the use your illusion ballad type shite. I highly recommend Sabbaths 'Live Evil', G'n'R live album is quality too.

just finished giving all dem cds I bought a listening to;
equal first: Gunners and Sabbath classic rock tunes, done by the best of there time and genre: recommended second: Def Leppard; classic, a bit earlier than the rest of the releases, you can hear it, but not in a bad way, theres no shortage of cheese, but it is overall a much more sincere effort than motley crues... : recommended last: Motley Crue, it didnt really have the real feel that the others did, at least a third of the songs on the Dr Feelgood album felt plasticy or forced, almost to the point of amateurish. I wonder if their previous album 'Girls, Girls, Girls' was better, before they went to rehab and all that lifechanging shit. : give this one a miss.
what i need to dig up is some 'Poison' anybody else suggest some 'quality' bands from the 'cockrock / glamrock / pregrunge / hair rock etc etc" eras?
